Number of blast victims in Pinsk reaches 14

Andrei Sannikov supported a call by Alyaksandr Milinkevich to announce the National Day of Mourning in Belarus.

“The blast in Pinsk and human victims at Pinskdrev plant is a tragedy for Belarus. I’d like to offer my deepest condolences to families of the people killed or injured in that explosion. I support the call by Alyaksandr Milinkevich to announce the Day of Mourning for the victims of the tragedy,” Andrei Sannikov, the leader of European Belarus civil campaign and a presidential aspirant, said.

Three more persons, who were injured in the blast at Pinksdrev furniture plant in Pinsk, died on Sunday.

The information was spread by the website of the Pinsk city executive committee.

Six persons remain in hospitals. Three of them are in the regional hospital in Brest, three are in the emergency hospital in Minsk.

The explosion and fire at Pinskdrev holding company took place on October 25. according to the Emergency Ministry, “a supposed cause of the accident is the explosion of deposition of wood dust as a result of violation of the operating regime of the equipment on production of fuel wood pellets.”
