Ministry Of Housing And Communal Services: Let Belarusians Pay Bills For Housing Services In Full

The ministry is confident that tariffs are very low in our country.

11 thousand Belarusians received non-cash housing subsidies for housing and communal services payments in the first half-year. The total amount of support ran at 330 thousand rubles, STV reports. The ministry believes that "the tariffs are not high, the population is able to pay for housing and communal services without non-cash housing subsidies."

We remind that on October 1, 2016, a new system of granting state aid for payment of housing and communal services started to work.

A non-cash subsidy can be obtained for all the basic housing and communal services, including heating and recoverable expenses (the lighting of auxiliary rooms, elevator). The "additional services" on the pay slip, as well as the consumption of basic housing and communal services over the norm are not taken into account when calculating the state aid. Therefore, if one has spent more than set for a month, he will receive subsidies only on the amount that covers the norm. All the rest has to be paid by the resident himself.

Earlier, the norms of consumption of some housing and communal services were revised for calculating non-cash subsidies. In particular, the standard for maintenance of the elevator and the consumption of electricity used for the operation of elevators was increased.

According to the government's previous plans, by the end of this year, Belarusians will reimburse 75% of bills for housing services, and by the end of 2018 – 100%.
