Poland’s main concern is the Belarusian nuclear power plant’s security.

And it is not the politicization of the issue, but the focus on the radioactive security in our region. The same as the Poland's refusal to buy electricity from the BelNPP is not a matter of policy, but of the economy. Konrad Pavlik, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Belarus, announced that to Euroradio.

"Poland wants all the misunderstandings, if any, related to the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant in Astravets to be quietly specified and worked through. For us, the most important issue is security. But we are no way interested in politicizing this issue, and I want to emphasize this. As for the purchase of electricity from Astravets by the Republic of Poland, at the moment we are not interested in such imports, we have no need of it.

We have our own resources to produce electricity: primarily, brown and black coal. Therefore, Poland is self-sufficient when it comes to electricity. Our country imports the minimum amount of electricity, if imports at all. The Belarusian side knows this and, I think, understands," – Konrad Pavlik said.

We remind that the other day, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Vitold Vashchikovsky said that his state would not buy electricity from the BelNPP.
