Brest Residents Intend To Take To Square Next Weekend

More than 35 thousand signatures against the battery plant construction have been collected in Brest.

More than 35 thousand signatures against the battery plant construction have been collected in Brest, Radio Racyja reports.

It was reported by human rights activist Raman Kisliak. At the moment, the collecting of signatures is still ongoing. The expert noted that local authorities should listen to the opinion of the city's residents:

– This means that a large number of Brest residents are against the construction of this plant. It is a big job to collect so many signatures. I saw how the signatures were collected. Most of the people, who were passing by the collectors, voted against the plant. This shows the great Brest residents’ unwillingness to see this plant near Brest.

The activists opposing the battery plant construction are planning to take to the square in the coming weekend, if the construction of the facility is not suspended.
