REP Leadership: The Trade Union Passed The Pressure Test

Since August 2017 more than 500 people have joined the independent trade union.

On April 23 the leadership of the REP Trade Union held the meeting in Minsk, praca-by.info informs.

Working issues were discussed at the meeting, and new members were welcomed. 40 people joined the trade union; taken the data of the first quarter, in 2018 the REP Trade Union welcomed 120 new members.

The leadership of the trade union addressed to all opposition members in the light of the continued criminal case against Fyadynich and Komlik and persecution of trade union's members.

"Dear friends, colleagues!

The Belarusian REP Trade Union stands up for protection of rights and interests of its members.

Our activists take on resolution of acute social and economic problems, which influence all workers. Our trade union requires the abolition of decrees that severely violate workers' rights (the contract system, spongers, etc.), participates in the public life of the country and protects rights of workers in courts.

Seeing how actively we protect rights of hired workers, how we defend those who are called "spongers" by the state, the authorities, hoping to limit our activity, decided to hurt us and fabricated a criminal case against Henadz Fyadynich and Ihar Komlik. Ihar Komlik spent two months behind bars and was recognized a political prisoner, the property of the trade union is seized, but it is not the end. There are unprecedented interrogations - more than 500 union members were summoned by investigators all over the country. However, despite the pressure, only few filed an application to withdraw from the union.

We believe that the union will pass the pressure test.

Since August 2017 more than 500 people have joined the trade union.

We are grateful to every member for your active position and devotion to ideals of the independent trade union movement. Only together we can defend our rights and interests."
