Mikalai Statkevich: We Bend Over Backwards To Make Lukashenka Resign
Mikalai Statkevich

Protests in Armenia are a good example to stop the ruler.

Amid current events in Armenia the statement of the Belarusian National Congress (BNC) published by one of the BNC leaders Mikalai Statkevich on Facebook gains a new ring. The statement's authors warn Lukashenka that the people's patience has limits.

"We will do our best, bend over backwards to prevent Lukashenka even from the imitation of elections for 7 years," Milakai Statkevich stated to Belsat.

According to Statkevich, Lukashenka is too hen-hearted.

"Leaders (opposition) and the example in Armenia will stop him. I think that the Armenians have made a gift to the Belarusians. They gave us time... The strategy of street non-violent resistance has been successfully implemented in Armenia," the politician says.

It requires three factors, Statkevich believes, to bring the Belarusians on the streets: leaders, hope for some changes, expired patience.

"If the Belarusians have hope, you'll never know them".
