Lukashenka: No Place To Hide

The dictator came up with the "message to the Parliament and the people".

Today, Lukashenka made his annual State of the Nation Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly. The speech started in the "Oval Hall" of the House of Government at 10.30 and lasted for 1 hour 20 minutes. The questions of the "deputies" to the dictator were not broadcasted.

Belarus-1 TV-channel covered the event live.

No place to hide

"There's no place on the planet where one could hide, shut oneself out and watch everything with detachment," - Lukashenka said. "Security has become something one can feel. Today, it's extremely obvious how easy it is to lose it and how much effort should be paid to preserve it".

Need to run

The dictator claimed that everyone turns to the state for money - the state-owned enterprises, private ones. "Many got used to the state's help to such an extent that they come running to the budget for aid as soon as the first signs of a problem occur. This equally refers to the state-owned enterprises and private ones. We need not to leave aside such practice, but to run away from it," - Lukashenka said. The dictator also stated that he cannot understand who runs the enterprises - either directors, or officials of different ranks.

It won't be easy

The beginning of the dictator's speech was quite apocalyptic.

"There won't be easy times. The sanction wars will hit us by ricochet anyway. However, we are not going to isolate ourselves," - Lukashenka said.

Like in Armenia

“Certain hotheads claim that any day now the president will set the day of a referendum on amending the Constitution. Dear friends, once and for all I want to say and to be heard by ‘concerned’ media from abroad: I have never acted foul towards our people and I will never do so. I know where I came from and how I won presidential elections. I made a vow and I will never break it otherwise we will have another Armenia here. One must not play games with people. If there is a referendum, we will inform the nation in advance, in accordance with the law. As for me, I have not even considered the issue of some referendum. We have stuff to do apart of the referendums now” - Lukashenka stressed.

“If anyone hopes that we will change the Constitution and this will pave the way for our Maidans and Maidan morons, this will not happen,” - the dictator added.

"The Constitution should not be broken to please one person. What if this person also gets broken? Armenia is a vivid example of this," - the dictator recalled the victory of the Armenian people again. Obviously, this theme worries him a lot.

“Everyone is adding fuel to the flame today. We have blamed the Americans for this, but now we are doing the same thing. I watch the work of the media as a person: some are rolling up their sleeves, ready to take at least machine guns and grenade launchers to start a war."

He warned such "warmongers" would be the first to suffer from their actions. “The situation in the society (not only ours) is as follows: we will instigate the war now, and someone is to put out the fire. No, those who start the fire will be the first to extinguish it together with their families,” - the dictator emphasized.

We cannot make sense what the BPR was

“We still cannot make sense out of history. What the Belarusian People's Republic was like and where our nationalists or integrators were moving towards. We have reached the limits of revolutions and wars. We do not need more of them. I am speaking big now,” - Lukashenka summarized.

There was the Patriotic War in 1812. Napoleon wanted to wander about here with his gang. Then there was the revolution, the BPR, which we still cannot figure out precisely," - the dictator said.

As if we don't know who stirs the pot our there...

The dictator contemplated about the international situation.

“Leave Syria alone and give the Syrian nation an opportunity to determine its life and fate. Syria should be no longer used as a firing range and a training ground. Or, for instance, someone asked me in Moldova, probably a pro-West journalist, like, what do you think about the Skripal case? As if we don't know who stirs the pot our there...

As if we know who is "screaking" there?

The dictator speculated about the international situation.

"All should leave Syria. Allow the Syrian people to choose their own future. Stop using Syria as a ground for confrontation. Or, for example, probably a pro-Western journalist asks me in Moldova – What do you think about the Skripal's case? As if we know who and how is "screaking" there, – the dictator said.

Trusted men with machine guns

Lukashenka threatened the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora to deal with violations of the law by the methods of the 1990s.

Lukashenka dropped a broad hint that in the mid-1990s he sent "trusted men with machine guns" to "shot all the bandits" on the Berlin-Moscow route.

"One incident occurred. Operatives reported it to me, the law enforcement agencies forwarded it as a joke. Well, that was just a shame. A truck is loaded with fish, already, probably, half-dead, and taken to Minsk to be delivered to the addresses. The addresses were put on my table. And where did the information come from? A usual driver drove it. Obscenities… He says, well, not again, my car has already spread wide, is falling apart because of this cargo, I cannot deliver it, I’ve already forgotten when I slept. Almost quoted it in full," – Lukashenka went into details.

"Are you crazy out there? – he continued. – Or should I take brutal measures, as in the first years of my life as the president, when people were killed on the Moscow-Berlin route? When I sent a knot of trusted men with machine guns, who shot a half there and sorted out the mess within a month? "

"We will be ruined one by one"

"Trade wars have overrun the world," – Lukashenka said. – "The examples are not far to seek. Take, for instance, the dairy, meat, sugar battles, which our nearest partner pulls off, not allowing our natural Belarusian products on its market. Why did they bring milk powder from New Zealand? If it is in spades here in Belarus? We are losing each other in such confrontment.

We will be ruined one by one. They will knock us out one after another, kick out of the EAEU – as it was two years ago, when the Armenian government raised the price of Russian natural gas, and then had to back down," – the dictator again turned to the Armenian theme.

Trade and "pads"

The dictator called the intermediary trade organizations "pads" and demanded to ban them.

"One of the problems of the Belarusian economy, which requires an operative solution, is intermediary structures," – Lukashenka said.

"Where the share of the public sector is high, they do more harm than good. And not only the public sector," – Lukashenka said.

"End with these intermediaries. This is a very important issue for me. These pads sell their goods to the enterprises and often at inflated prices, by hook or by crook, including bribes. They eat up to 3% of GDP, the government has counted this," – the dictator found" guilty "in the deplorable state of the economy.

"All the people around are crooks and thieves"

Lukashenka said that he is ready to dismiss the Minister of Transport and Communications Anatol Sivak.

"There are more and more cases of corrupt practices in the system of the Ministry of Transport," – the dictator said. – It is necessary to stop the rot there in a drastical way, and once-for-all-time. I can honestly say that I am already close to sending Sivak to the same place as the Minister of Forestry. And I put it bluntly, your ministry is at the center of attention of the law enforcement system in the most cruel manner. Take action!"

"A common man might even get the impression that all the people around are crooks and thieves," – Lukashenka said.
