A break has been announced in the notorious trial in Korzhych case till October 8.

The Investigatory Committee of Belarus will “verify the testimonies” of the defendants in the Korzhych case, who claimed they had been beaten in the KGB. A break till October 8 has been announced in the notorious trial. This initiative was offered by the Prosecutor, and the judge supported it, Euroradio reports.

One of the defendants, sergeant Yauhen Baranouski said in court that he did not confirm his earlier testimony: “The KGB men put pressure on me… All the testimonies were dictated by the KGB officers.” According to him, they threatened him. “I still bleed when urinate,” the defendant said.

A notorious court trial is taking place in Minsk over the criminal case on the death of a 21-year-old conscript soldier Aliaksandr Korzhych in the military training center in Pechy. Three sergeants have been officially accused: Yauhen Baranouski, Yauhen Skuratovich and Anton Viazhevich. They were interrogated on September 11-14. On Monday, privates Vital Mitskevich and Vadzim Sauka, the participants of the investigatory experiment, were questioned. Korzhych’s mother noticed that the guys’ evidence contradicted with other case materials.

Aliaksandr Korzhych’s body was discovered in the basement of the medical troop of the military unit on October 3, 2017. He had hanged in the loop for a week. The soldier’s legs were tied, and he had a T-shirt pulled on his head. The investigation of the infamous case lasted for half a year. In April 2018, the Investigatory Committee announced that Korzhych had been driven to suicide by his comrades-in-arms. The soldier’s mother does not believe this version.
