Vitsebsk Demanded To Close Brest Battery Factory

Aliaksei Haurutsikau, an opposition candidate for deputy, has held an election picket.

On November 7th, the candidate for the Vitsebsk Chkalauskaya constituency №18, a member of the BPF Party and the For Freedom Movement, Aliaksei Haurutsikau, held a picket near the Marka-City pyramid in Vitsebsk. During the picke,t Haurutsikau expressed his solidarity with Brest voters in their struggle against the construction of the battery factory dangerous for the city, Vitsebsk Viasna writes.

"Down with the arbitrariness of officials and the regional election commission in Brest! Ban the construction of the battery factory! Stop the construction of the Astravets NPP," - Aliaksei Haurutsikau was calling on passers-by.

The picket was peaceful, it was monitored by OSCE representatives from the Czech Republic and Russia.

In the evening, Aliaksei Haurutsikau and his proxies held a meeting with voters in the assembly hall of Secondary School No. 46, which is located in the Biliova district. The meeting was attended by local teachers and several citizens.

The teachers were most interested in the issue of quality and affordable medicine, which they raised several times. Referring to the declared in the candidate's program "transition to insurance medicine", they asked to explain how in this case the people on lower incomes would be treated. Aliaksei Haurutsikau explained that the transition to insurance medicine will be gradual, and the state medicine will remain for pensioners and the poor.

According to the candidate himself, the conversation turned out to be rewarding.
