Piro-Ross Company: Belarus Refused To Conduct Technical Inspection Of Salute Launchers

The Ministry of Defense refuses to comment on the statement of the Russian company.

The Ministry of Defense will not comment on the information that journalist Viktar Malisheuski received from the Russian company Piro-Ross.

''We are not the copyright holder of the information, it is the Investigatory Committee,'' said Uladzimir Makarau, the official representative of the Ministry, to tut.by.

On July 11, Belarusian journalist Viktar Malisheuskii published in his blog an interview with Andrei Inkin, the head of the design office #3 of Piro-Ross OJSC, who stated that the guarantee period for self-propelled launchers expired in 2018, after which overhaul or factory maintenance was necessary.

''It is possible that the Ministry of Defense of your country independently maintains these installations, but we suggested carrying out the tech inspection at the factory, that is, at our base in Sergiev Posad.

Apparently, in the budget of the Defense Ministry there are no funds for this. Although each year they purchased projectiles for a substantial amount of money. We addressed up to the meeting of Ministers of Defense last year, we repeatedly made offers to carry out the technical inspection of the launchers,'' said Inkin.

Inkin also stated that the tasks of the company's employees detained in Minsk included the elimination of minor malfunctions and, if necessary, to advise on the salute scenario.

''Only your military men charge the launchers. The commandant's office has a full-time military officer responsible for this. We advise on the scenario and solve minor problems your military draw attention to,'' he added.

The company Piro-Ross notified tut.by that none of its representatives had communicated with journalists recently.

The Ministry of Defense did not comment on the voiced information.

''We are not the copyright holder of this information. All information is owned by the Investigatory Committee, we have no right to comment,'' the official representative of the Ministry Uladzimir Makarau repeated several times.

Important to note, on July 3, during the festive salute, an emergency occurred. A 64-year-old woman died, 10 more people were injured.

The Investigatory Committee considers four main versions: malfunctions of the salute launchers, malfunctions of fireworks products, improper charging of the salute launchers, and improper operation of the salute launchers.

Employees of the company for the production of pyrotechnic products Piro-Ross Maxim Sapronov and Konstantin Denisov, detained in the case of the fireworks explosion, are held in the detention center in the Valadarski Street in Minsk. On July 8, they were visited by Russian diplomats.
