Brest Rebellious Citizens Nominated Fourth Candidate

Another opponent of the construction of the battery factory near Brest participates in the parliamentary campaign.

He intends to run for office in the district where the scandalous plant is located.

Uladzimir Maroz, an activist in the campaign against the battery factory and duty officer of Lead Watch, is running for election in the parliamentary campaign for Brest-Pahranichny Election District No. 4.

"We nominated the fourth candidate at the request of people. Residents of the district, where the plant is located, were indignant that no one was taking part in the campaign in their district," - human rights activist Raman Kisliak told the Brest Newspaper.

On Monday, September 16, the district election commission will consider the application of Uladzimir Maroz for registration of the initiative group to collect signatures for the nomination of his candidate. Last week, groups to collect signatures of three protest movement activists were registered: Aliaksandr Kabanau, Alena Makarevich and Raman Kisliak.

In order to be registered as candidates for deputies, it is necessary to collect at least 1,000 signatures for each of them.
