Blogger Grey Cat Sentenced To 15 Days Of Arrest For Third Time In Row
DZMITRY KAZLOU

Dzmitry Kazlou's trial has been kept secret from everyone.

Blogger and activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Dzmitry Kazlou, known as Grey Cat, has been sentenced to 15 days' arrest for the third time in a row for December protests, his friend Palina Stsepanenka informed Radio Svaboda.

According to Stsepanenka, the blogger's lawyer found out on January 14 that the day before Kazlou had been tried again while he was in prison in Vorsha. None of his friends or representatives were aware of the trial.

6 reports have been drawn up against Kazlou in total. He's still waiting for the trial in the Leninski district court of Minsk on January 27. He is punished for both participating in the rallies and disseminating information about them on Youtube and Telegram.

"He said: "Expect my release in May", - Stsepanenka says. - He will not appeal anything: he admits both participating in the rallies and disseminating information on social networks.

Dzmitry Kazlou stopped calling on December 26, 2019. His European Belarus comrades-in-arms say they've been trying to find out from law enforcement officers for five days, whether Kazlou was detained or not. He was to be tried on December 30 in the Leninski district court in Minsk. Only that day, it turned out that the blogger had been detained on the 25th and put in jail for 15 days in Vorsha. He was to be released on January 9, but it turned out that he'd been tried again while serving his sentence.
