The Chairperson of the Rada of the BPR has congratulated the Belarusians on Freedom Day.
Invonka Survilla, Chairperson of the Rada of the People's Republic of Belarus, addressed the Belarusians on the occasion of the anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Belarusian People's Republic.
The text of the address has been published on the Facebook page of the BPR Rada.
"On behalf of the Council of the Belarusian People's Republic, I congratulate each of you, in Belarus and wherever you are in the world, on our glorious national holiday. The ancestors of all of us declared independence before the invaders started denationalizing our people, - the Chairperson of the Rada of the People's Republic of Belarus writes. - In 2019 we all experienced great happiness seeing a sea of white-red-white flags in the streets of Vilna during the funeral of Kastus Kalinouski and his fellow fighters. I would like to thank all those who joined us on that glorious day once again with all my heart. I was proud of you more than ever! Then I got convinced that we would win!"
Remembering one of the most important events of recent times, Invonka Survilla said: "Unfortunately, after the joy, we had to go through a great deal of trouble when Putin tried to take over our land. I hope to God it was all just a terrible nightmare that we had to endure in order to realize the value of our state's independence".
"I want to think that our people, namely our youth, felt that independence is worthy of being defended by everyone in tight rows, - Invonka Survilla concluded her address. - Remember that you will be respected in the world and you will be reckoned with only if our state takes an honorable place in the family of free nations of the world. So hold on, my dear compatriots! Long Live Belarus!"
