BPS-Sberbank Reported Outbreak Of Infection At Its Head Office

Many of the workers have been sent on sick leave.

BPS-Sberbank said that 80% of employees at the bank's head office in Minsk had been transferred to remote work. "After the test of one of the central office employees showed a positive result on coronavirus, twelve employees were sent to hospital treatment," - the bank informed. Earlier, it was reported that last weekend one of the employees of the bank's head office died, tut.by writes.

"Coronavirus was found in an employee of the head office, who had no contact with clients, but communicated with colleagues. The bank had been preparing for the pandemic on a preventive basis. Thus, we purchased about 20,000 masks and the necessary disinfectants both for personal use and for the processing of office space," - Maryna Asipouskaya, Head of the Coronavirus Prevention and Control Staff, commented.

Employees in the contact group were isolated and placed under control, the bank specified.

"However, the bank decided to transfer back office staff (primarily from the head office) to remote work. Thus, more than 80% of employees from the administrative building, where the infection was detected, will work remotely. This format of work will not affect the efficiency of business processes," - BPS-Sberbank says.

The bank specifies that there is also a program to prevent infections. "It includes refusing any business trips, travelling outside the offices is minimized, and meetings are held in the format of videoconferences. The premises are cleaned daily with the use of disinfectants. Surfaces: railings, handrails, elevator buttons, door and window handles are treated with a special agent . Dispensers with antiseptic are available for everyone," - the bank notes.

According to our information, the bank refused to send its employees on business trips abroad back in March.

The bank reports that at present 11 employees of the bank's central office are undergoing treatment in health facilities. "To the deep regret of the whole team, one of the employees has passed away. He had pneumonia. The bank will provide all possible support to his family," - Maryna Asipouskaya reported.

We remind that a 51-year-old driver of BPS-Sberbank died in Minsk last weekend. His relatives report that he had a positive test for COVID-19.
