Opponents of the construction of the battery plant near Brest will continue to insist on its final closure, leader of the public campaign against the plant Dzmitry Bekaliuk said to BelaPAN.

"Residents of the region do not care who owns the plant. People do not want to be poisoned with lead and will stand to the victorious end, - Bekaliuk said. - The authorities will get an even greater wave of protest if the plant is going to stay the same as it was planned to be commissioned in the second quarter.

We remind that on May 22, the battery factory of LLC iPower was taken out of control of 1AK-Group. In the course of the deal 100% of the shares in the authorized capital of iPower were sold. As a result, the plant was named LLC Battery Alliance. The new owners of the company are in negotiations with a number of major European investors on entering into the capital of the plant.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the authorized capital of the new owner of the plant, Battery Alliance LLC, is 6.7 million rubles. Siarhei Kahanovich owns 85% of the company's share, and Dzmitry Baskau owns 15%. Kahanovich is deputy director of the Seven Hills Bel company, participated in hockey competitions with Lukashenka's team. Dzmitry Baskau is general director of the Dynamo-Minsk hockey club and coach of Aliaksandr Lukashenka's team.
