Anatol Hramovich, former director of the Financial Investigation Department of the State Control Committee, was detained in the "case of Belgazprombank". This information was confirmed by the press service of the State Control Committee to tut.by.

"Yes, he is detained. As part of the investigation of criminal cases against former and current employees of Belgazprombank," - the SCC informed.

Detentions in Belgazprombank began on June 11. Since then, more than 20 people have been taken to the KGB jail in this case. These are former and current top managers of Belgazprombank, as well as representatives of commercial structures, who worked closely with the bank. They are accused of money laundering, tax evasion, fraud, giving and receiving bribes.

Viktar Babaryka headed Belgazprombank for almost 20 years until he announced his presidential ambitions in May.

The main rival of dictator Lukashenka in this election was detained in the morning of June 18, when, together with his son Eduard Babaryka, he was on his way to the CEC to hand over the collected signatures. About half a million Belarusians signed up for nominating Viktar Babaryka as a presidential candidate.
