On Friday, the lawyer was tried in the October District Court. She was present there virtually - via Skype. The police witnesses were wearing balaclavas and spoke under fictitious names. They claimed that Liudmila Kazak had resisted the arrest. They did not introduce themselves and did not explain the reason for the detention, the lawyer said. She had with her materials on Maryja Kalesnikava's case, which contained attorney-client privileges.

Kazak is a mother of many children; she has three minor children. She believes that the detention is related to her professional activities - the defense of Kalesnikava.

After her release, Liudmila Kazak showed reporters a complaint written on a piece of cloth (no paper was given for the complaint). Its author is cellmate Natallia Hershe, a Belarusian from Switzerland, who was arrested on September 19 for 15 days for participating in the women's march in Minsk. She is suspected of resisting a police officer with violence, which is a criminal case.
