There have been no incomes from Lithuania for more than a month and a half.

The Lithuanian Minister of Energy told Delfi that Belarus does not receive income from the Baltic states for the electricity generated at the BelNPP.

According to Vytautas Budzinauskas, there have been no incomes from Lithuania for more than 1.5 months.

From the moment the first power unit of the Belarusian NPP was connected to the grid, Lithuania stopped the transmission of electricity from Belarus across its border. At the same time, the official export of electricity from our country to the Baltic states will also stop.

However, the specificity of the arrangement of interchangeable electricity flows is such that, according to the Lithuanian side, when officially buying Russian electricity, the Baltic countries actually received Belarusian electricity. And Ukraine, buying Belarusian electricity, actually received Russian electricity. Therefore, in Lithuania, despite the termination of exports, they still believed that they were paying for energy from the BelNPP. In February, Ukraine stopped purchasing electricity, respectively, the flows stopped.

- It can be argued that we have had no import from Belarus for more than a month and a half, and we do not pay for the construction of the BelNPP. We are satisfied with the situation that has developed now, but the methodology used by Estonia and Latvia does not exclude the possibility that the situation may repeat itself in the future," Buzinauskas noted.
