Israel Strikes Back At Iran

The missiles hit a military airbase near the city of Isfahan.

The Israel Defence Forces launched an air strike on Iranian territory.

This is reported by ABC News.

The publication, citing a US official, noted that Israeli missiles hit a facility in Iran.

Iran's Fars news agency reported that explosions were heard near the airport in the central city of Isfahan, but "their cause is unknown."

Fars later added that "three explosions" took place near the Shekari military airbase near Isfahan.

Iran's military later claimed the shooting down of several drones and emphasised that "there has been no missile attack" on the country "so far".

"Several drones were successfully shot down by the country's air defence, there are no reports of a missile attack yet," said Hossein Dalirian, a spokesman for Iran's space agency.

Iranian television reported that air defence forces shot down three drones in the skies over Isfahan.

The province is home to several Iranian nuclear facilities, including the centre of Iran's uranium enrichment programme of Natanz.

Iranian media reported that the nuclear facilities were not damaged in the attack.

"Nuclear facilities in Isfahan province are completely safe," the Tasnim news agency reported, citing "reliable sources."

Israel has informed the U.S. that it is not targeting Iranian nuclear facilities with missiles, CNN reported, citing a senior U.S. official.

Fox News Channel reports that a "well-placed military source" describes the strike as "limited."

The New York Times quotes three Iranian officials as confirming that a military airbase near Isfahan was struck, without saying which country carried out the attack.

Iranian media reported the suspension of flights over the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz and Tehran. All flights have been cancelled at the capital's Imam Khomeini Airport. According to CNN, several flights have been diverted over the country's airspace.

Iran's Massive Attack on Israel

On the night of April 14, Iran attacked Israel on a large scale with attack drones and missiles. Targets were launched from Iranian territory and by puppets of the Iranian regime from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

More than 200 drones and about 150 rockets were launched towards Israel. Israel, in partnership with the US, UK, France and allies in the Middle East, shot down almost all targets except for a few ballistic missiles.
