Historian: Lukashenka Has No Ukrainian Roots

The way a fantasy has become a geopolitical factor.

At the meeting with Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who is known to be a godfather of Putin’s children, Lukashenka once again recalled his “Ukrainian roots”. Lukashenka confessed that he takes close to the heart the events in Ukraine, Solidarity writes.

- I served in the army there, I’ve been there many times, and I have never hidden that my ancient roots go deep somewhere in that region, between Chernihiv and Kyiv, - Lukashenka said.

“However, back in 1926 his grandfather Trafim Prokharavich (not Ivanavich) was an ordinary Belarusian peasant from the village of Aleksandryja...” Zmitser Drozd wrote on Facebook.
