Occupiers Completely Destroy Tripilska TPP Near Kyiv

The hits resulted in a large-scale fire in the turbine shop.

The Tripilska thermal power plant, located in Kyiv Region, was completely destroyed during a massive overnight Russian attack.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the head of the supervisory Board of PJSC "Centrenergo" Andriy Gota.

"All workers who were on shift when the shelling occurred are alive," said Gota.

According to him, the hits resulted in a large-scale fire in the turbine shop.

Work is continuing at the plant to localise the fire.

On What Is Known About This TPP

The Tripilska TPP is the most powerful power plant in Kyiv region. This region belongs to the energy saturated areas, where energy generating enterprises with a total capacity of 3200 MW are located, of which the installed capacity of the Tripilska TPP is about 57%.

Thus, the power generating enterprise is the largest supplier of electricity to Kyiv, Cherkassy and Zhytomyr regions. The enterprise occupies an area of 281.3 hectares and is located in Obukhiv district on the bank of the Kanevske water reservoir.
